1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
1 cup Maple Hill Farm – Barton, VT Robust maple syrup
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3/4 cup nuts, raw, chopped, and lightly toasted
1.Heat oven to 325 F degrees. Grease and flour a loaf baking pan.
2.Over medium-low heat, heat milk and butter in a small saucepan. Do not let boil. Once the butter is melted, stir in the maple syrup. Remove from heat.
3.In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt with a wire whisk.
4.In a large bowl, pour in some of the milk mixture. Quickly stir in the eggs. Add the remaining milk mixture and stir it until it is completely combined.
5.Add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, then mix until well combined. Stir nuts into that mixture.
6.Place the batter into bread pan and bake for one hour.
7.Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack.
We recommend serving the bread with Maple Hill Farm – Barton, Vermont Maple Cream, Maple Jelly or Maple Butter. Plain butter works well too!
