Brighten your holidays with a fresh and fragrant Balsam Fir. Mail order Christmas trees are shipped straight from Maple Hill Farm Barton Vermont. Unlike many retail tree lots that sell trees harvested in October, our mail order Christmas trees are harvested and shipped within two weeks of your order. It doesn't get much fresher than that!
When contacting us to place your order, you can choose your perfect tree type and size, and the week you would like it shipped. We then harvest your tree the week prior to your requested ship date. Shipped Christmas trees are packaged in a custom box designed to maintain freshness.
Due to an increase in demand, limited availability and transit limitations, we highly recommend placing your order as soon as possible starting in November. Please note, ordering your tree early will not affect when your tree is cut as that is based on your desired ship date. Maple Hill Farm Barton Vermont takes pride in delivering you fresh trees straight from our Christmas tree farm!

When you bring your tree home, saw a couple inches off the bottom of the trunk before setting in water. When trees are cut, pitch oozes out and seals the pores. By sawing off the base, you will open up the pores, and the tree will be able to absorb water.
Watering is critical. A freshly-cut tree can consume a gallon of water in 24 hours!

Never let the water level go below the tree’s base.
Indoors, keep the tree away from heating ducts or other heat sources. In fact, the lower the temperature, the better the tree will do.
One old Vermonter we knew always packed his tree stand with well-watered soil and planted the tree in the mixture. The soil should be kept wet.
Some people add aspirin or sugar to the water; we can’t say whether either helps. Again, water is the vital element.
